Chichen Itza is an ancient Mayan city located on the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico. It is famous for its impressive pyramid of Kukulcán, also known as El Castillo, and for being one of the most important archaeological sites of the Mayan civilization. It was a ceremonial and political center in its time, and today it is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
